I was unearthed But god knows what they birthed I am shadow and flame But god knows my name I am shadow and flame I am shadow and flame I am shadow and flame But god knows my name

Brute Neighbors (free) 05:03
I know just where to go When it snows But it's not home Hallelujah! I found peace Hallelujah! sweet relief Not in you but in the trees In the heavy-laden leaves If I hide my eyes from the city behind Hide in the pines from deciding Escape to the cold, forget that dreadful unknown Though for a little while Is this breath too heavy to bear Or too light for me to care? Either way you don't fare well So farewell If I hide my eyes from the city behind Hide in the pines from deciding Escape to the cold, forget that dreadful unknown Though for a little while Birds of the forest add sticks to my fortress They build it high and build it strong It lets in the weather but there's no shelter better Than being alone

Terror 06:12
There is a man in my house, face painted brown He sits in papa's chair, as his friends skip up the stairs Children of darkness, the absence of light brings them to life Beautiful cowards that keep us afraid of closing our eyes at night CHildren of darkness, the absence of light brings them to life Shadow puppets dance on her forehead As they lean over her side of the bed They paint her face like an actress Til brother reaches under the matress Children of darkness, the absence of light brings them to life Beautiful cowards that keep us afraid of closing our eyes at night Children of darkness, the absence of light brings them Precious son, oh what have you done? I thought I hid my gun I am the man in your house Wont you let me look around? Call me lover once again I said no I'll call you friend Children of darkness, the absence of light brings them to life Beautiful cowards that keep us afraid of closing our eyes at night Children of darkness, the absence of light brings them to life

Loose Limbs 08:24
I am the hull that filled with water and sank to the bottom You are the storm that put me there, and now I wont come up for air I am another feigning death-wish, I do it for the attention Now your eyes on me will dwell 'til again they're somewhere else If I could grind you in my tea like all those wilted leaves I'd sip at it slow, savor your mediocrity Holding the cup between my knees i see your visage in the steam Checking your hair in the glass, good to see you haven't lost your vanity At least you're pretty, as I pour you out At least you're pretty, I guess that's something You are the teeth that tear my skin just to see what's under it You are the deadliest of sins that I can't help but commit Your winds are so strong, my hull is so weak maybe it's calm underneath He raised his hands and calmed the sea But he's not sailing with me I am the hull that filled with water and sank to the bottom You are the storm that put me there, and now I wont come up for air I am the archetype of failure, killing off my savior You are not my cross to bear, maybe in ten or twenty years Hang your ex-lovers by a noose Swing them back and forth until their limbs are loose any love, any lover will do As long as stray eyes stay fixed on you
5.
I Will Wake 06:53
I hide under the water And dance with clenched fists And though I'm spawn of a savior, I'm spun out of sin I don't know when to say when I don't know when to say when I hide under the water And dance with clenched fists And though I'm spawn of a savior, I'm spun out of sin I don't know when to say when I don't know when to say when In the face of that wave, there's a place where I lay And when it breaks on that day, I will wake and they will pray But I cannot, I cannot be swayed

about

PRESS/PRESS/PRESS/PRESS/PRESS/PRESS/PRESS/PRESS

"Spokane's Terrible Buttons sound like a musical project that's born in a dark, old house, during those desperate moments right before your mind goes over the edge from sanity to insanity... There's something about their music that makes me feel like I'm wandering around the French Quarter in New Orleans in the fall, at night."
- The Stranger; Seattle, WA

"Plates of Ether, though dark, is a fun listen that clearly shows the band for what they more than likely are: a hell of a live band."
- SSG Music; Seattle, WA

"...Absolutely worth checking out... You're going to get a great show out of Terrible Buttons"
- The Source Weekly; Bend, OR

"A Spokane band who sing dark and play nice"
- Oregon Music News

"Perfectly edgy for a Friday night"
- KXLY; Spokane, WA

"If the name sounds familiar, you may have heard Spokane ex-pat Kaylee Cole talking about this seven-piece"
- Seattle Weekly; Seattle, WA

“Smoke Around the Lamps, with its disquieting, fun-house-from-hell atmosphere could be a lost Waits track"
- Bend Bulletin; Bend, OR

"Ueland is the anachronism at the center of the dark folksy carnival that is Terrible Buttons. His throaty vocals warble alongside Berentson’s, creating a playful and absurd sound."
- Inlander Magazine; Spokane, WA

"With a sound as unique as their name"
- 103.1 KCDA; Spokane, WA

"The Spokane-based band truly strikes a chord of excellence with their sleepy, intricate folk masterpieces"
- What's Up Magazine; Bellingham, WA
