Brute Neighbors

from Brute Neighbors by Terrible Buttons

lyrics

I know just where to go
When it snows
But it's not home

Hallelujah! I found peace
Hallelujah! sweet relief
Not in you but in the trees
In the heavy-laden leaves

If I hide my eyes from the city behind
Hide in the pines from deciding
Escape to the cold, forget that dreadful unknown
Though for a little while

Is this breath too heavy to bear
Or too light for me to care?
Either way you don't fare well
So farewell

If I hide my eyes from the city behind
Hide in the pines from deciding
Escape to the cold, forget that dreadful unknown
Though for a little while

Birds of the forest add sticks to my fortress
They build it high and build it strong
It lets in the weather but there's no shelter better
Than being alone
